Aah, finally last night I decided to once again go ahead and try to make AMX Bans work in the PGN Servers the way I wanted them to work. It has always worked out of the box but I wanted something different.
And the difference between this AMX Bans and the hundred of communities using AMX Bans out there is that the PGN AMX Bans version has the Custom Reasons ‘locked’. They’re locked to what I’ve set them too. Admins can’t use their own custom bans…which I think is silly and dumb. I hate it when people can’t even type properly. So I hate to see ‘lol i banned the hacker’ in the ban reasons. I just can’t stand it.
So now that it works, amx_ban & amx_banip doesn’t work anymore and they have to use amx_banmenu. That’s because amx_ban and amx_banip let’s a server admin put their own reason when banning a player. Sure I can tell them to use amx_banmenu but sometimes the itch to use amx_ban and amx_banip is so tempting that I have to blocked it altogether. Sigh…sometimes you have to have full control of the environment when you want something done the way you want it to be done.
I’ve also change the way admins are handled. They are now handled through a SQL database, frankly I never thought it would be so much easier than the regular user.ini settings. I don’t need to login to the individual server’s ftp anymore to edit the admin list. I can just check/uncheck or completely remove an admin! That’s how easy it is! I love it.
