Well I’ve downloaded the rag_setup0305.exe and sak_setup0305.exe on my desktop computer. I’ve installed rag_setup0305.exe and I’ve made the client update itself. I’ll install sak_setup030.exe later. Right now my desktop computer is idling while uploading the rag_setup0305.exe client, once I’m done with it I’ll upload the sak_setup0305.exe in my dedicated server.
It looks like the rag_setup0305.exe and sak_setup0305.exe files are extremely rare and there isn’t a lot of mirrors out there for those two files. There’s a bunch that chops the files into smaller files, but I prefer the one big file download since I have a pretty decent connection in my house. What bugged me though is how slow the download was for rag_setup0305.exe and sak_setup0305.exe, I was literally downloading at around 25kb/sec. It took me almost a whole day just to download these Ragnarok Online clients.
Once I’m done uploading the rag_setup0305.exe and sak_setup0305.exe files in my dedicated server, I’ll post it out so people can download them. The dedicated server’s connection is 100MBit unmetered thanks to Centauri Communications’ Josh Coleman who provides me with that kind of insane bandwidth. I can only use it for Gaming Purposes and my personal use, anything other than that is prohibited (And I gave him my word). But since these files are game files and PGN RO will be launching soon then hosting these files and making them publicly available is still under ‘Gaming Purposes’ especially when it involves PGN in the future (PGN RO).
Another obstacle I’m facing right now is that I can’t compile eAthena under the dedicated server. It keeps telling me that I don’t have zlib installed and that I don’t have the standard libs installed. Then on my laptop which is also running Fedora 8, it can’t seem to find MYSQL even if it’s installed and running perfectly. Honestly, #athena on IRC.DeltaAnime.Net is no help at all. There’s some people there that completely ignores you since you’re a newbie. However there’s a couple of good-hearted people in #athena that would like to help and I thank them for that. Hopefully when I get the time to sit down and get this done, then they’d still be around so I can ask them certain questions.
I’ll probably have to fix Remository or DOCman for our portal if I intend people to go to our website and register to download the files. I’m also thinking if I should just let it be and submit it as a mirror…then later on once the PGN RO files are ready then that’s the only time to integrate the file inside the PGN CMS. I’m moving towards the latter suggestion. We’ll see…we’ll see.
The files are available for download if you are a registered user in www.JoinPGN.com, then just click on the Downloads section.
