So I’ve always wondered how the hell do these photographers make panoramic photos since I really like them…so I then Google’d it. I found out that Photoshop has the Automerge function wherein you just take a bunch of photos of the scene that you want to turn into a panorama and Photoshop will do the rest. Here’s a sample! I’ll definitely be doing this more often now…it’s awesome!

Photoshop Automerge Rocks
Tuesday, May 27th, 2008AMD 64 X2 4200+ 2.2GHz @ 2.8GHz
Tuesday, May 20th, 2008Haha, so yeah I manage to squeeze more than 500MHz more on this cpu. Considering that it’s quite old, I’m still impressed by it since I don’t play games that much anymore I’m going to squeeze in as much extra juice as I can to my hardware. It’s idling kind of hot right now – around 50 degrees celcius but this is only on stock HSF from AMD and I’m only running one 120mm fan in my Lian Li PC P60 Armorsuit case. I have three at the front and one 140mm on top. I haven’t used them since I’m still contemplating what to do with these blue LEDs. They bother me a lot and I don’t want my computer to be all shiny and flashy. I’ll probably buy three 120mm fans, one 140mm fan from New Egg just so I can replace these damn blue lit fans.
What Is This Noise
Tuesday, May 20th, 2008So I manage to migrate my desktop components to my new motherboard. But something is definitely wrong or not setup correctly, the freaking stock heat sink and fan from the AMD 64 X2 4200+ is running at 100% fan speed all the time…I need to figure out how to set this properly. Plus the audio jacks up front from my Lian Li PC P60 doesn’t work, I have no idea how to make them work as I haven’t ask around yet. I just got Firefox installed right now plus Vista SP1, I had to use my OEM Product Key that came with the HP A6000N (The one that is stickied to the side panel). So I think I can’t use that one anymore…I have another one, in my laptop but it’s blurry as heck. Hopefully when the time comes, I get to talk to a nice customer support agent so they can help me recover it.
I also manage to setup my new computer table in my room, it’s uhm…pretty! I’ll take pictures soon and post it here or in one of my communities that I frequent. Anyway, I’ll be moving things to my room now, hehehe.
Rebuilding My Desktop And Laptop
Monday, May 19th, 2008Well before Summer classes start, I will be rebuilding my desktop and laptop, so that means I’ll be reformatting both. I bought a new computer case for my desktop, it’s a Lian Li PC P60 Armorsuit case and for me it looks awesome. Not because it has blue LEDs which I absolutely hate, but because it looks so dominating. I still have to buy a couple of stuff for it like the Lian Li CD/DVD Driver Cover Bezel, that way it still looks sleek inside even if you open the door. I’m still thinking whether I should do liquid-cooling for my desktop, air-cooling with after market parts or just leave it like that…all stock. Maybe I could push the AMD 64 X2 4200+ to 2.5GHz on a stock heat sink and fan. The inside of my case would look dull though, alas I plan on taking high-quality pictures of my case and posting it online when I get the chance.
My laptop has Fedora 9 installed and it has a problem of its own too, the NVIDIA drivers dont’ work well with the new Xorg that Fedora 9 shipped out with plus the Firefox x86_64 app doesn’t like Flash. Other than that it works fine so far…I’m pretty sure I’ll find more problems with it later on as it is after all the cutting-edge in GNU/Linux. I tried CentOS 5.1 but it’s too old for my test, it ships out with Firefox 1.5 I believe…and the only thing I liked from it is it’s an enterprise grade distribution so it is more stable or mature as some other people would like to call it compared to Fedora 9 which pretty much is a test bed for RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
Done With Dedicated Server Maintenance
Friday, May 16th, 2008Holy crap, that took a whole day. At least now I have separate accounts for the PGN web portal and my own personal web portal. Wuhoo! Finally! Damn, I also got the dns entries to work now. I’ll probably wait until Josh talks to me again and then I’ll ask him to delete some of the dns entries for the JoinPGN.com domain because it looks like I won’t be using them anymore. Anyway, I’m glad I was able to restore all of the files back to how it was…except now that they’re in their own dirs and accounts. Go me.
