Wuhoo! I finally reached my goal of having 1 million page views on TPU’s Case Modding Gallery section. Hahaha! I think that’s a TPU record! The one behind me only has 52,000+ (As of the time of this writing.) and that person submitted it on the 18th of November 2006, I submitted mine the 1st of June 2008! Hahaha! I stayed up late last night so I could get this screenshot.

1 Million At TechPowerUp
Sunday, November 30th, 2008“Helvetica is art.”
Saturday, November 29th, 2008You know it’s really unfortunate that sometimes we need to put fancy graphics in posters to get our messages across people. I mean I’m not saying that we should take them all out, I’m just saying that some artists overuse them a lot and it actually makes the viewer look somewhere else like it gets their attention and then they’ll just be like meh. What you need is a poster that someone will actually look at and then take the time to read. And what better way to get someone’s attention than to properly use Typography.

Friday, November 28th, 2008Remove The Dotted Outline/Border From Links Using CSS
Friday, November 28th, 2008Have you ever noticed that everytime you click on a link you can see a dotted outline/border? Isn’t it annoying? Especially when the dotted lines overlap or go through the other areas of your website? I’ll show you how to remove it completely using CSS. (Cascading Style Sheets).
Combating Comment And Ping/Trackback Spam One WordPress Plug-in At A Time
Thursday, November 27th, 2008I’ve always disabled comments and pings/trackbacks on my WordPress blog because of spam. I’m not used to getting spam on my other websites – I don’t know is it because of Joomla? Most of my Joomla websites are spam-free and since my blog is the only WordPress installation that I have it kind of pisses me of a bit. Because on my Joomla websites I don’t use any plug-ins that help fight spam. Which is why I just told myself to screw it and disable both comments and pings/trackbacks instead of just enabling Akismet. However as more and more people tend to visit my blog I started to think that maybe some of them want to leave a real comment or a ping/trackback. And since I have both of them disabled then they can’t leave any comments or pings/trackbacks at all. Moreover I have comments set so that only registered users can leave a comment, then add the fact that I also disabled user registration for my blog…wow that totally leaves them with nothing hehehe. I want my website to be friendly to its visitors without the spam and so I’m going to enabled comments and pings/trackbacks again – And yes you don’t have to register to leave a comment. But then what about spam?
Fallout 3 Collector’s Edition
Thursday, November 27th, 2008Did I ever tell you guys that I am a huge Fallout fan? I’ve been playing the game ever since it was first released back in 1997 – That’s 11 years ago! I was still attending high school back in the Philippines. Aah good times…good times.
I’ve spent countless hours traveling Fallout’s wastelands. I still had a dial-up connection way back and patching Fallout 1 and 2 was a pain in the ass especially when the new patch fubars your precious saved game files! It didn’t affect me that much in Fallout 1, however in Fallout 2 which is a lot larger than the original Fallout…that’s when things like this stuff that they call game patches really mess things up. It really a pain in the ass when the first couple of patches came out for Fallout 2. Why? Because they were huge files! Remember I’m on dial-up and I wasn’t even on a 56k connection, I was on a 28.8k connection. Just imagine the agony and wait-time I had to endure during those days.
And now, 10 years after the original Fallout game was released…Fallout 3 finally comes out! Guess what I did? I bought myself a Fallout 3 Collector’s Edition!
How To Make Your WordPress Header Image Clickable And Still Validate In XHTML 1.0
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008Ever since I got addicted to W3C’s Markup Validation, I started having this urge that I have to check every single page in a website if it’s XHTML 1.0 Valid or not (OCD anyone?). And since my blog (At the time of this writing) is XHTML 1.0 Strict valid, I wanted to make sure that it stays that way for as long as I maintain it.
Anyway, it’s quite common to see clickable header images (Not just the text within the header image) in WordPress installations and they usually take you back to the main page if you click on them. And since the default WordPress theme (Kubrick) only lets you click on the text and not the entire header, I wanted to make a header image clickable too. The first website that I found that teaches you how to make your header images clickable is WordPress’ own tutorial about designing headers. I never knew that finding a solution would be that easy!
YouTube.com ‘s Going Widescreen
Tuesday, November 25th, 2008So I was just killing some time today and watching some clips here and there and I noticed something different…it’s on widescreen! At first I was like Did they mess something up on their layout? Hell no. YouTube.com’s going widescreen (Finally wuhoo!) and you can read more about their announcement on their blog. Take a look at my screenshot!
Remove Login/Logout Header In Fireboard
Wednesday, November 19th, 2008I was annoyed at how Fireboard displays the login/logout header especially when you already have Community Builder and logging in redirects to the frontpage. And add the fact that I hate seeing my avatar on the header of the forum. So I decided to remove it! Here’s how…
