Alright! Since I installed Vista x86_64 on my HP DV9000 series laptop again…I made a promise to myself. That I will be using the different kinds of open source alternatives for all my consumer applications. At first I think that it’ll be hard especially that I’ll basically be dumping Photoshop CS3 now for GIMP. And the first time I used GIMP, I was like blah…I can’t edit images properly, it’s not as polished as Photoshop CS3. But you know what? I installed GIMP right after I was done updating Vista x86_64 and my anti-virus and I was completely blown away. Now you hardcore GNU/Linux fans out there (See? I even used GNU/Linux instead of just saying Linux, hahaha.) may hate me for switching back to Microsoft’s Vista and your’e probably like…I thought everything works for you? To answer that, it’s because of my DSLR, file transfer is a lot faster when compared to GNU/Linux and I simply can’t wait especially if all the files total up to more than 2GB.
Anyway, I’ll be using GIMP from now on as opposed to using Photoshop CS3 last time. Once I’m done editing all the images I took ages ago, I’ll post them up.
