I’ve been dying to post this! I’ve been using this Netbook for almost a month now and all I can say is, this Netbook is great for taking down notes, making a quick check on the web, and doing a quick debug on your code. It’s the complete opposite to my HP DV9000 series laptop which is a desktop replacement laptop and thus it’s quite big…17″ to be exact. It’s a pain to carry around especially if you have a couple of books with you. But hey, it might be heavy but it’s the one I’m using right now while my desktop is offline. Anyway, without further ado…my first ever Netbook!
I bought the Samsung NC10 at Newegg for about $499.99. Here’s some of it’s specs that you guys might be looking for.
- 10.2″ Screen Size
- WSVGA Display Type
- 1024×600 Maximum Screen Resolution
- Intel Atom N270 (1.6Ghz)
- 1GB DDR2-800
- 160GB HDD 5400RPM
Looks a bit slow right? Well it is. However this isn’t meant to play the latest games around. It’s more for web surfing and note taking. I also ordered a Mushkin 2GB DDR2-800 so I can maximize the amount of memory that the NC10 can have, that set me back for around $21.99 bringing the total to $471.98 now add shipping and handling and the overall price that I have to pay is $493.40, not that bad I guess!
The NC10 comes with it’s own Netbook case but it’s not really that great since there’s no clip or button to hold the opening in case you flip your case or something. Which is why I looked for a classy and well-made leather case. After searching for a couple of days I found Noreve which is considered to be one of the more luxurious accesory makers.
I bought the leather case for around $69.99, again add shipping and handling and the total went up to around $73.49. So all in all, in order for me to be happy with my Netbook I had to shell out $565.89! But hey, it’s still cheap since my DV9000 series hovers close to $2000 during its time.
Tis’ a sexy Netbook! I mean it! I love it! Hahaha!
