I’ve finalized all the components that I will be using for this project and frankly, I’m trying to justify it to myself. Hahaha. I’ve been telling myself that it’s been awhile since I’ve built a PC…think years. So let’s have a rundown on all of the components!
- $229.00 – AMD Phenom II 940 Black Edition CPU
- $124.99 – Foxconn A7DA-S AM2+ 790GX Motherboard
- $65.99 – 4GB (2x2GB) OCZ Reaper HPC DDR2 1066 Memory
- $59.99 – Noctua NH-U12P 120mm SSO Heatsink
- $94.95 – 5x Noctua NF-P12 1200rpm 120mm Case Fan
- $234.99 – HIS 4870 1GB Video Card
For a total of $809.91, now keep in mind that this is for the hardware only hahaha. Add another $100 for all the other items that I need to be able to finish this project. So I’m going to say that it’s a $1000 project since I’ll still be buying a couple of stuff like screws, rivet gun, a couple more primer/paint/clear coat, et al.
And honestly, I should not even have started this project if it weren’t for that damn AM2 motherboard dying on me! Hahaha, it literally forced me to go in a buying frenzy since I thought that it’s time for me to upgrade.
One thing’s for sure. I better hustle this year to get everything back, damn me.
