Test Your USB Drive’s Read And Write Performance
Friday, March 20th, 2009So I have this 4GB USB thumb drive by Sony which I bought for who knows how much. I wanted to find out what its read and write speed are since I will probably be using it if I manage to fit the Vista or Windows 7 installer in it. I searched around the web and from most of the forums that I’ve seen, they’ve always recommended HD Tune as the weapon of choice in finding out your USB drive’s read and write speed. However the free version and HD Tune only allows you to do check out the read performance of your USB drive. You need to dish out some cash if you want to do both read and write tests.
So I continued searching and eventually I landed on this hiyohiyo’s website called Crystal Dew World. It’s in Japanese but he has an English version of his website. And it looks like I found out what I need…for free!
