Project Beauty & Madness (Part 18)

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

I haven’t made a larger whitebox so I can’t take photos of the whole case yet. Maybe when I have the time and better lighting and new lenses!

My Scythe Fanless HDD Box

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

One of the things I’ve always wanted was to hide the HDD because for me it doesn’t really look good. So I bought the Scythe Fanless HDD Box which does not only make your boring gray HDD look good but it also takes out a bit of noise.  If all your going for is looks then I suggest this one!

My Noctua Promotional Items

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Here’s what Noctua gave me for free! Yeah! For free! I mean it might not be a big deal for you guys since it’s just a couple of stickers and a badge, but I mean come on! It’s the Noctua stickers and Noctua badge! Can’t get anything better than that, hahaha.

Why Noctua Rocks

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

So I was trying to finish one of my project pcs right? Then I accidentally broke a couple of the Noctua brown rubber screws while trying to remove the Noctua fans off the case. That really pissed me off and so I went online and tried to find if Noctua sells them separately. Unfortunately they don’t! So I was like hmm…maybe if I could ask them to give me a couple of replacement brown rubber screws. And if they did, I’d be one hell of a happy man.

Revamped JoinPGN.com Layout

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

After staying with the four column layout for JoinPGN.com for almost a year, I decided to scrap the leftmost column making the it a three column layout. I really like it better this way…check it out yourself.

Making PolarClock Work On Vista x86_64

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

After writing Making FLIQLO Work On Vista x86_64, someone left a comment and told me that I should take a look at PolarClock. Although it’s not as useful when viewed from a long distances as FLIQLO it sure is an attention getter as a screensaver, it’s guaranteed that it will make heads turn! The latest version of PolarClock is 3.0 which is a total rebuild from scratch by the author and I must say that it’s on top of my list as one of the best screensavers ever!

My Radeon 4870 1GB

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

I snapped a couple of pictures of my Radeon 4870 1GB while I wait for my cases to be done. Here they are, enjoy! I also included the stock GPU-Z screenshot which will be my reference in the future once I overclock this video card.

My Samsung NC10′s CPU-Z And GPU-Z Screenshots

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

I validated my stock NC10′s settings for both the CPU and GPU. It’s not really impressive when you compare it to what desktops have to offer nowadays. However you need to take into account that this is a Netbook! I’ll probably never use my Netbook for playing games, I have my HP DV9500t and my Phenom II desktop for those stuff – which reminds me I have to upgrade my laptop’s memory in a few months time to 4GB DDR2.

New CentOS Desktop

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

As I was updating my CentOS 5.2 desktop computer, I noticed something new after the update a couple of days ago. There’s a new wallpaper and it’s damn pretty! Here’s the screenshot.

My Noctua NF-P12

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

I got to be honest, at first I hated the Noctua colour scheme but it grew on me and now I like it. It doesn’t really look like the gamer’ish type of fans we see nowadays. It actually makes me feel that I bought a mature product, hehehe. Since I’m waiting for some more parts for my project I took some pictures of it.

Grand Junction, April Fools 2009

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

It’s already April and we’re still getting quite a lot of snow so I went to downtown and snapped a picture of what our downtown looks like. It is not by all means as modern as Denver. It’s more like a laid-back small American community which I absolutely love, I just wish I have a better lens.
