After writing Making FLIQLO Work On Vista x86_64, someone left a comment and told me that I should take a look at PolarClock. Although it’s not as useful when viewed from a long distances as FLIQLO it sure is an attention getter as a screensaver, it’s guaranteed that it will make heads turn! The latest version of PolarClock is 3.0 which is a total rebuild from scratch by the author and I must say that it’s on top of my list as one of the best screensavers ever!
The only sad thing is…well just like FLIQLO, Microsoft’s Vista 64 bit will install the files on the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ directory. Which is why the moment you close your Screen Saver Settings window, it’s gone from the list the next time you open Screen Saver Settings! It’s not really gone though, it’s still in that directory it’s just that for some reason it doesn’t show up on a 64 bit Vista operating system.
What you need to do is look for two files and a folder named PolarClock3.scr, PolarClock3.swf, and PolarClock3 dir respectively. All you need to do is copy them over to C:\Windows\System32\ and that’s it! Enjoy your new eye candy! Please take note that I said copy and not cut or move them over. That means all those three files must exist in both directories! Otherwise you’ll get a message that the screensaver has been partially uninstalled.

Found you on Google.. Well, I have Vista 32-bits and I soo want the PolarClock to work but everytime I return from the screensaver – Windows Live Communications Platform crasches. Do you know how to fix it??
“What you need to do is look for two files and a folder named PolarClock3.scr, PolarClock3.swf, and PolarClock3 dir ”
Where are these files on download? I never saw them, just the .exe file.
Thanks, i was about to uninstall it. It worked PERFECTLY.
Just like Anna I have the same Issue on Windows 7 x64 (Final). Everytime the ScreenSaver shows the Windows Live Communication Platform crashes and WLM logs-out. It only happens with that ScreenSaver.
BIG thanks, it works perfectly!!
I was eating my brain looking for an answer and thats it!
this vista structure is a little bit odd and causes stupid mismatches with a lot of usefully things!
Thanks again!
uh….i can’t find the files to copy over to system 32. I’ve done a search, they don’t show up. ??? Anyone anyone? thanks.
I love you. :’( Many thanks, you solved my problem pal!
