GameTracker.com’s membership approval system is !@#$
It’s one of those poorly designed user-interfaces where you can’t just click approve all to approve everyone that applied. You have to approve each one manually…one by one. Why do I even bother taking the time to approve the new members (for PGN)? I shouldn’t right? Because it’s a complete waste of my time. However, these gamers that want to join PGN’s GameTracker’s page took the time to write funny and dedicated intros for their membership. Here’s just a couple of them…

ola viajo sin rumbo a lomejor me podeis a ayudar en vuestro clan – daniyloren94
Hehehe. Most of them are young players so ignore the sentence structure and grammar. My original plan for PGN before it grew to a video gaming website was to be a clan that caters to newbie and veteran players. I’m keeping my word.
How to add new jQuery versions/links to JB’s plg_jdlibrary plugin
So I’ve been using Joomla Bamboo’s jQuery plugin for all my Joomla installations now since it makes it easier for me to specify which jQuery version so use. However, there’s something lacking after you download the plugin and that is the ability to add 3rd party hosted jQuery plugins. The only options you have are your local install (same location as your Joomla install) and Google’s FREE CDN hosted jQuery. Also, the latest version you can use with their plugin is 1.4.2 (IIRC). At the time of this blog post, the latest jQuery version is at 1.5.2 already and there’s already a lot of bug fixes done. As a webmaster you always want to have your JavaScript libraries up-to-date just in-case someone discovers a 0day exploit you know.
Anyway, there were two things I wanted to do. One is to be able to use my own jQuery files hosted in Google (not the one’s Google hosts – google-cdn.joinpgn.com) and second, the latest jQuery 1.5.2. So…let’s get it on shall we?
Things I tend to forget when it’s almost Summer
Ceiling fans need to start rotating counter-clockwise (which is its normal setting). Remember that folks. Summer = Counter-clockwise. Winter = Clockwise.
The STUPID ‘Switch to tab’ feature of FF4
I don’t know why there’s no disable button for this stupid feature. Users are not that stupid to open up another tab with the same URL. And it’s really annoying when you need the same couple of pages at the same time. Take for example tools.pingdom.com which is a website I used to keep track of how fast websites load. I used to just open one window anyway since PGN wasn’t on CloudFlare’s CDN network. But now that PGN is on CloudFlare’s CDN network, I tend to open two pages of that page to measure how fast PGN loads with CloudFlare and then without CloudFlare. And now…because of this so called feature that I happen to not be able to turn off, I have to take a couple of extra steps just to open two instances of tools.pingdom.com. And here I thought Firefox developers are expert at user-interface stuff. Why would I need another step or even a couple more steps to do what I used to do with just one step? WHY? WHY?!
You know what? Whatever.
