The STUPID ‘Switch to tab’ feature of FF4
Sunday, April 10th, 2011I don’t know why there’s no disable button for this stupid feature. Users are not that stupid to open up another tab with the same URL. And it’s really annoying when you need the same couple of pages at the same time. Take for example tools.pingdom.com which is a website I used to keep track of how fast websites load. I used to just open one window anyway since PGN wasn’t on CloudFlare’s CDN network. But now that PGN is on CloudFlare’s CDN network, I tend to open two pages of that page to measure how fast PGN loads with CloudFlare and then without CloudFlare. And now…because of this so called feature that I happen to not be able to turn off, I have to take a couple of extra steps just to open two instances of tools.pingdom.com. And here I thought Firefox developers are expert at user-interface stuff. Why would I need another step or even a couple more steps to do what I used to do with just one step? WHY? WHY?!
You know what? Whatever.
Does CloudFlare really work?

You be the judge and tell me. I haven’t really been monitoring my bandwidth usage but it looks like Cloudflare just saved me a bunch! The only thing I hate about CloudFlare is that you have to pay to have a custom challenge page and probably any form of custom page. I think they should just let you do that for free…and if you want more advance security settings…then you have to pay. Isn’t that what you CloudFlare is all about? Better security through their DNS system. I seriously want to customized all the pages that CloudFlare uses when someone triggers it. Why? Because I don’t want them to know that I’m using CloudFlare! It’s like telling a thief what kind of security system you have!

When Will CloudFlare Have…
Saturday, October 30th, 2010Cloudflare is awesome and all but there’s just some features that I want to be included in its free version…
1. A better offline page – I mean seriously though, why does the offline page suck? And please don’t tell me it’s an offline page so it doesn’t really need any extra rainbows and rabbits. Oh and I know the ability to customize the offline page is in the works (at least that’s what they told me) for PRO users. Why? I don’t get it.
2. A time till next cache/update timer – I wish I know when will CloudFlare update my cache or at least my stats. Just knowing that they update the stats every 24 hours doesn’t cut it.Is it 24 hours their time? Or my time? What? See?
3. The ability to reset analytics data – YES, there are people out there that want to reset their stats. I don’t need to explain it. It doesn’t have to be deleted…just cleared.
4. No Google ads – I know that it helps generate money but please…they’re an eyesore especially for error pages or challenge pages.
