8 Site Links For JoinPGN!

October 20th, 2009

Yes! Finally! I JoinPGN.com get’s to have 8 sitelinks! I remember the first time my website had site links. I was happy about it but I was a bit disappointed because of how the site links were generated because it did not have the forum link. So I did a couple more rounds of SEO and then bam! I checked the SERP today and look what I found!

Desktop Fall Break ‘09

October 9th, 2009

Yep, it’s my Fall break and I have four days to party to finish my missed home works, projects, research et. al. and that sucks! I mean it doesn’t suck because I’m doing them, what sucks is because I’ve always been a procrastinator. 1st day of Fall break…I cleaned my room and re-arranged some stuff.

New Gadgets

October 9th, 2009

For the record, my Phenom II desktop PC only has 250GB of HDD space and for the past 2 years I just download/delete whatever I can instead of just downloading it and keeping it forever (if it’s worth it). Moreover, since I now use a wired keyboard and mouse (G15/G5) I have two extra freaking wires dangling over my computer table (which just got fixed by the way). Since I have OCD and I hate wires, I bought a Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-port USB Hub. Sigh…now I’m $150+ poorer. Dang it! But at least my room looks better right?

Fixing My Computer Table

October 9th, 2009

My computer table’s keyboard/mouse drawer has been broken for almost a year now. I mean it’s not totally broken wherein you can’t use it. But the wood that’s supposed to hold the drawer is loose and sometimes it derails the drawer and you know what’s next…the keyboard/mouse falls down. I was going to strap two metal L-shape supports for it but then it’ll look ugly right? I mean here I am again…trying to make something look pretty even though I won’t be looking at it 24/7. But still! I mean, you guys understand me right? The people that have OCD right? Right? I found a solution and (4 hours later) it’s still holding like a champ.

WeRAzn

October 4th, 2009

This is a shameless plug for my new and upcoming website WeRAzn.com. If you guys have been visiting JoinPGN.com chances are that can somehow look at it as a ‘finished product’ already.  And not some website that’s been rushed for a school project or something. The only thing that I’m going to do for that website is write original content and fix some bugs that come up (if I can of course). Other than that, I honestly think it’s pretty much done. Most of the HTML, PHP, and CSs stuff are working and front-end/back-end seems pretty strong and stable as far as I’m concerned. Which is why I’m going to have time for WeRAzn…

Test Fax Machine For Free

September 19th, 2009

When I moved the CentOS desktop from one place to another, I forgot how to setup the fax machine or exactly how you should connect the cables to make the fax machine work. When I moved the desktop, I had it like this…phone line -> answering machine -> HP 5610, which works as far as the phone is concerned, fax does not work though. So how did I know the fax doesn’t work without calling a friend to send and received faxes? Simple, use the power of the internet.

The Piano That Started It All

September 5th, 2009

Have you guys ever wondered why I can make myself like all kinds of music? It’s because of this…the piano that started it all. When I was a kid, I was the only one who actively played this piece of instrument. Sadly at 26 I’m no longer as good as I was way back. I don’t have my own piano here in Colorado (the piano’s located in the Philippines by the way). There’s just so many memories that this piano holds, enough to last a life time for me. If I ever settle down in the Philippines I’ll preserve it, protect it and play it.

SJC 97-98

September 4th, 2009

A lot of high school students right now want to get out of high school as soon as possible while I want to travel back in time so I could repeat it again and again…and again. That’s how awesome my high school life was. Sure, I cried a lot (I was a cry baby back then) so get over it, I’ll whoop your ass today.

Logitech G5

September 4th, 2009

Logitech G5

Oh my goodness, it looks so pretty. I guess I like it more than the Razer DeathAdder because it doesn’t have any fancy lights. Hopefully this mouse will server me for at least more than a year or so. Or else, that’s $60 down the drain for me.

Time Is Slow When You’re Bored

September 4th, 2009

It’s Friday, and I should be happy. I mean I am, it’s just that I am bored as hell right now with my classes. It’s not like I’m not interested or the professor is boring. It’s just that, I can’t concentrate. And it’s not that I’m blogging that’s why I’m losing my concentration. The words, terms, and expressions just fly away.

Next Week’s Problems

September 3rd, 2009

Fall classes started like 2 weeks ago and so far…I haven’t really done anything to help me with my classes. Now that 3rd week’s coming up, it’s time for the first major test for most of my classes. Great! I still don’t have my book on my Science class (I’ll go and check again tomorrow), and I have to review for the Computer Networks class and the laboratory class for my Geology class. I also have some Algorithm homework due next Friday. Besides that I have a bunch of other things to do like clean my car (which looks like a brand new car again by the way, thanks Honda!). So why all this right? I mean… what in the world was I thinking right? How can I let my schedule be like this?

My New Mouse v2

September 3rd, 2009

Ok, so I’m really picky as to what I like for a freaking mouse and I was about to open the DeathAddder box, I told myself…dude you have a Logitech speaker, it won’t match. That freaked me out, I want things to match! My keyboard right now is a Logitech MX 3200 and the mouse is a MX 600 that came with the keyboard. So it got me thinking…since you already bought a gaming mouse, why not just go with the gaming theme. I went back to Best Buy and exchanged the DeathAdder for this one…

My New Mouse

September 2nd, 2009

My Logitech laser mouse from the MX 3200 keyboard and mouse combo has served me well. It feels great and there’s a ton of stuff that you can do when you’re just well…using your desktop. I’m not really a hardcore gamer so I didn’t need any special keys or profiles just to play my favorite games. However, everytime I use a mouse I tend to break the left click mechanism a lot. Right now the Logitech mouse is double-clicking anything even though I’m just pressing it once. That could be a pain especially when you’re editing images or just plain dragging stuff from a local server to a remote server since sometimes it will try and open the file (upon double-click). So I told myself, since I play games and people say that you get what you pay for. I opted for a Razer DeathAdder, a 1800 dpi 3G laser mouse. Just by looking at the specs it looks like it’ll blow my current mouse away. The question is, how long before it takes me to break the left click mechanism for this mouse. This mouse set me back around $60 dollars double the price of the keyboard and mouse combo from Logitech (MX 3200).

NAIA Wireless Internet Sucks Big Time

August 15th, 2009

Aight, I’m at NAIA terminal 2 right now and I’m hella pissed. I’m used to being able to connect to any wireless network for free when I’m in Colorado. I expect all the terminals in NAIA to be notebook/netbook friendly but guess what! They’re not! Just look at the screenshot below, do you see all the unsecured wireless connections? The only connection you can actually connect and use is airborneaccess.pal. You can connect to the other unsecured wireless networks but then it’s pretty much just local connections a.k.a. no Google.com for you.

Getting Wireless To Work With Globe Broadband

August 6th, 2009

First off this does not concern you if you don’t live in the Philippines and if you are not using Globe Broadband. Most of you already know that I’m currently in the Philippines. Moreover, everyone knows I need an internet connection to survive at least a day anywhere…I don’t just need an internet connection I need a wireless internet connection since I don’t like walking around or not being able to move while using the internet.
